Our mission at fcnKidz is to deeply reach children through the demonstration of real life examples of Christ and His love. We accomplish this through training our teachers and volunteers to reach children deeply with unconditional love as well as partnering with our parents in developing a child's spiritual walk on a daily basis. Most of all, at FCN we deliver the "Good News" in an interactive, exciting way that children can relate with enthusiastically.
Our vision at fcnKidz is to reach as many children as possible and help them develop a personal relationship with Christ that is rooted in their everyday lives.
Our values at fcnKidz are to have an ever growing ministry that grabs children down deep. We push to serve children of all types and backgrounds in an exciting and enthusiastic way that is life changing and contagious. We strive to be known as a safe place for children and their families, where all can come to experience unconditional love, acceptance, and Christ first hand. Our deepest desire is to see every child grow in Christ spiritually. We want to equip them with the biblical skills, disciplines, and knowledge in preparation for their journey into the teen years and beyond.
Carl Wren
Pastor of Children and Families
I am blessed in position a that allows me to reach children, and families for God. Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in a relevant exciting way that connects in lives today is my passion and call. I love to see children and adults grow spiritually with the Lord as it is part of God’s Great Plan. Never forgetting that we must reach one child/family at a time showing unconditional love of Christ, and speaking the solid truth of God’s Word into their lives that will bring a permanent change from within them.
“Do not change yourself to be like the people of the world. But be changed within by a new way of thinking.”

Leslie & Blake Hulsey
Puppet Directors & Caravan Directors
Blake and I have been attending Lubbock First Church of the Nazarene for our entire lives. Growing up here at FCN meant that puppets were a part of our childhood. Blake’s family was a part of the puppet ministry for over 40 years, and when we were asked to join the puppet team, we were thrilled to help carry on the tradition. Helping share God’s word to His children using puppets is a privilege and Blake and I could not have asked for a better way to serve and minister to others. We are always looking for volunteers to help us out on Sunday’s. Please let us know if you are interested in serving God’s children in a fun and exhilarating way, with Puppets!
Melanie Cornwell
Jr. Children's Church Director
It is such a privilege for me to be able to serve FCN’s preschoolers and their families. I am blessed to be called to plant the seeds of God’s love and His Word into young hearts and minds! The greatest joy for me is to see a child’s face light up with understanding of how amazing God is and his unlimited, unconditional and passionate love for us. If we can plant and nurture those seeds to have firm roots at a young age, we are building a foundation for children to successfully seek God’s direction throughout their life!
